Pavlos is a bug collector afraid of wasps. He lives in a small village, forgotten by time and progress. Isolated in his own mental menagerie, he chases butterflies in idyllic landscapes. He works as a Byzantine museum curator and the story begins to unfold when news of a theft of church icons in another village triggers nightmares. Gradually, a beautiful woman appears and the line between reality and dream begins to blur.
